- Counseling for Adolescents & Adults

Welcome and thank you for visiting. You may be here because you're feeling worried, stuck or alone. You may be at the end of your rope and know something needs to change. I would like to help. My education, training, and experience are in working with teenagers and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, addictions, PTSD, and other challenging issues. I invite you to call or email to set up a free 15 minute phone consultation to see if I may be a good fit for your needs.

My approach to therapy is practical, empowering, and compassionate. I help clients clarify what they want, increase their self awareness and build healthy coping skills while we also work to get to the root of the problem so lasting change can occur. Clients begin to notice and better understand the thoughts, feelings, and beliefs associated with a problem. Once this occurs, space is opened up and clients are able to make changes, move forward, and live a more intentional life.

As a mother of three children in a blended family, I can relate to the changes in physical, emotional, and social development that occur in adolescence. I can also relate to the anxiety, depression, and unhealthy coping skills these changes can set in motion. If not addressed, these patterns tend to follow us into adulthood and repeat over time.

In addition to traditional talk therapy, I encourage and am master level certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). ART is often helpful in resolving problems that do not improve from talk therapy alone (trauma, addictions, OCD, phobias). To learn more about it, please visit acceleratedresolutiontherapy.com.

My real world experience combined with trauma focused training and degrees in psychology and mental health counseling allow me to offer clients a unique perspective, skill set, and understanding of the many challenging issues that face today's adolescents and adults.

I would love to get to know you and would be honored to work with you on your personal therapy goals. Please call, text, or email to set up a brief consultation to see if I may be a good fit for your needs.

If you are in a crisis situation, please dial 988. If there is a medical emergency, please dial 911.

My Approach:

More than anything else,I believe that people are resilient. I also believe that you are the expert on your life, but that sometimes life can just get too overwhelming to handle alone. By being genuine, curious, culturally sensitive, and accepting, I meet my clients where they are and help them get where they want to go.

While it can be very difficult to notice sometimes, most adolescents and young adults desire to achieve independence while still remaining close to family. Therapy may be a good option for those coping with shifting family dynamics or when an issue arises that affects familial relations.

Sometimes people find the support of a therapist to be helpful during the transition from adolescence into adulthood, especially if they experience mental health concerns or other difficulties as they become accustomed to new expectations, roles, and responsibilities.

My approach to therapy is practical, compassionate, down to earth, and strengths-based. I work collaboratively with clients on their desired goals while simultaneously helping to rebuild connection and trust within relationships.

I encourage my clients to learn more about themselves and their worldview. My therapy approach helps clients get to the root of what is causing their symptoms and affecting their functioning. I help clients see, understand, and change the many aspects that have informed and influenced their current challenges.

Depending on your needs and goals, my practice is informed by the following evidence based treatment approaches:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

- Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

Attachment Based Family Therapy (ABFT)

Internal Family Systems (IFS)
